Episode 49: What’s your Heritage

We discuss heritage and knitting today

I got a wonderful box from CNA for their Made by Me competition. The competition is to inspire people to make a heritage themed craft that tells something about who you are.
Rachel and I talked about heritage and the definition

Part of who I am that people may not like to talk about is white South African that grew up in Apartheid, I mentioned 2 blog posts that I have previously done I benefited from Apartheid – did you? and I hate that I fear

The morning show was Good Morning South Africa and the cartoon was Grootbek en Katvis
I am thiking of making a shark or another African animal from the grey yarn that I got in my box. Mamma4Earth from South Africa does some wonderful patterns

The Phoenix Hat has been released to raise money for the Red Cross Childrens Hospital burns unit and we did a special episode about that last week. Thank you to all who have bought the pattern.

We did our first Periscope and it was a bit of a disaster my username is PinkHairGirl if you want to find me

My contribution to #sockblanketmadness was disastrous, I will try to do better next month.

Rachel got her Leaping Wold Cub badge. Thank you to all who sent her postcards and helped with coins and stamps.

Fininshed Objects

I made the Almost lost washcloth for Titus’s teacher

Finished my August socks are from Electric Carnation and are for Women’s Day in South Africa 3 rainbows for women being multi cultrural, multi talented and multi faceted. Such a genius idea from Wooldiaries.

I tried to make a Japanese Knot bag, the 2nd attempt was better than the first. I followed Martha Steward Instructions
