Special Episode: Phoenix Hat

Introducing the Phoenix hat, our fund raiser pattern for the Burns Unit at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.

100% of the pattern sales will got towards our drop offs to the Burns Ward.

Those of you watching for a while will know all about the Red Cross children’s hospital burns unit that we support, for those who don’t know us here is a recap of what we are raising the money for.

Rachel is a Youth Ambassador for Chaeli Campaign and had to do a community service project we decided to support the Burns Unit so we contacted the Children’s Hospital Trust who put us in contact with the doctor who runs the unit, we found out what they needed and blogged about it here.

Raised money and collected hats and washcloths and in May this year we did a drop off at the hospital of
50 little cups of sweeties and treats for the kids
138 hand knitted hats in sizes from baby to adult
118 Toiletry packs for the mothers who stay in the hospital

With this hat we hope to raise the money to carry on supporting the Burns unit. The hat has sizes from baby to adult and is knit in fingering weight yarn.

  1. Terrific pattern! My confusion: should the stitch count of adoult small decrease roud set up row (144) be the same stitch count after decrease round #1 for adult small (round 3 = 144)?! Clarification please?
