  1. What an awesome give away. I had very dry skin on my face and try new products every couple of months. This would be great to try too!

I spent 29 February with my grandmother of 83. She lives happily on her own in a sea-side suburb near Groot Brak Rivier, is fitter than I am and healthier than any of her peers! Meeting her for the first time, people think she’s 65!
She’s been the core of our family for a long time and is the source of many a strong woman in our family! Two aunts and four cousins all very independent, successful ladies.

She inspires and supports me. I’m lucky to have such an amazing role model.

  2. I woke up early on the 29 February and went for my early morning run. I love knowing that all the exercise I’m putting in will help me have a healthy life.

  3. What did I do on Leap Year day? I was taking care of my boyfriend who had broken his knee in a motorcycle accident the previous day.

Not exactly romantic or super special but I was needed and I could see that my boyfriend appreciated every cup of coffee made and every fluffed pillow.

I may not have been “empowered” in the traditional sense of the word but being needed and being able to help, heal and take care of Daniel, made me feel celebrated as a woman.

  4. On 29 February, we celebrated the birthday of a friend, who have his birthday on the 29th. It was cool to celebrate this special day with him because in a way, he only have a birthday every 4 years 🙂
What makes you feel celebrated as a woman?
The fact that I can do whatever I put my mind on and that no one will stand in my way like when women was oppressed in the 1800’s and early 1900’s.

  5. On leap year day I celebrated and treated my husband and beautiful daughter( 3yrs old) to a wonderful dinner. I felt good for me as woman to have them in my life and be able to love them unconditionally as Woman do.

  6. I didn’t do this on the 29th, but I did a Boudoir Photography workshop. I’m hoping to make other women feel celebrated as a woman no matter what their size, shape or age.

  7. Since it was an extra day in the year i decided to take the day off from work and spend time relaxing at the park with hubby and dogs…..to feel celebrated as a women, i just have to look at what i have accomplished and the possibilities i can accomplish..women really can do almost anything 😉

  8. I awoke on 29th of Feb with a great big smile on my face, looking out at the sea and thinking, this is a day like no other. I was in a whole new part of the world, a different place in my life mentally and emotionally. At the spur of the moment, I decided to book a flight for Johannesburg, just to get away for a day. I had a scrumptious breakfast at King Shaka Airport, boarded my flight and arrived in sunny Johannesburg. I boarded the Gautrain, found myself in Sandton in the blink of an eye, thinking back, that it did not even exist a year ago! I shopped, dined and met with friends and just as I was headed for the airport again, I heard about Cyclone Irina! Needless to say, I got home in a giffy as I forgot to close my windows!

  9. I popped in to visit my bf who was working late because the next day was our anniversary… just to take him a beer and give him a hug. He works too hard.

Great giveaway, by the way 🙂

  10. I went to visit and made new friends at a women’s group and we had such a lovely time together, sharing our common interests. We celebrated being friends, wives, sisters, daughters and mothers.
In the evening I went to my mom and helped her on her computer. She is such an inspiration to me in that even at 76 years she is learning another language, bought a laptop and learning to work on it and leading a very busy life.

  11. On the 29th I went to movies with my ex, (we are still close) Nu Metro have a Leap Year movie special that’s hard to pass up. R20 a ticket and R25 for a yum popcorn, coke and Twix combo. We watched The Descendants, a thought provoking and touching movie. Just the kind of story to help you set your priorities straight in life.

Nice girly products make me feel happy to be a woman. I feel celebrated when others do thoughtful things and I realise I am appreciated for being me.

  12. These Esse Organics products look FAB! Pick me, pick me.
Okay, what did I do? I started the day by going to train an awesome lady who at 78 years old needed training for her blogs, Facebook Pages, Twitter and LinkedIn account. How inspiring is that? What a privilege to assist a lady who does not see age as a barrier to achieving her goals. What better way to celebrate being a Woman than helping another Woman? High on happiness, I then spoilt myself by going to have my hair cut for the first time in 4 months. My hair looks gorgeous, thanks for asking.

  13. Wow, those products look awesome.

I must admit 29 February was a totally normal day for me, spending the day at work, and then going home to my husband and kids. The most exciting part of the day was seeing Pinky’s proposal!!!

What makes me feel celebrated as a woman – my day to day life, the fact that I can work in a mostly male environment with no difference to their jobs, and still go home and be a Mom.

  14. Leap year is important to me, I always celebrate it.
Having just had a baby,I was longing for a little loving, and my hubby happily obliged 🙂

I also had a leap year celebration on ravelry by selling a special colourway called “what a girl wants”

  15. I decided to take the whole of this year to reclaim my “womanness” and take care of myself and my body. It’s just over 2 months into the year and I’m loving the difference!

  16. I had an Esse facial about 6 months ago and LOVED the products. I have very dry skin and loved that the cream is nice and rich and moist.

For leap year I flew half-way around the world for a romantic interlude in a super swanky hotel in Dublin. Complete with tour of the Guinness factory, dinner in Gordon Ramsay Restaurant and steam bath and swim in hotel’s Swarofski-crystal-lit swimming pool. I don’t think I have ever felt quite so celebrated and spoiled. WOW. Bucket List stuff all of it!

  17. Leap year was a normal workday for me but I did get a THRILL at seeing Pinky propose.
I feel celebrated as a woman when I feel good about myself. In order for this to happen I need to be exercising regularly, watching what I eat, wearing clothes that fit me properly, having my hair done regularly and taking time out. I am LOVING this part of my life.
