We have an egg! The first egg that one of our lot ever laid. What great excitement in our house.
There have been a few more sagas since I last posted about the chickens.
Our new Jack Hen had a prolapse a few days after we got her, I was devastated. When I went to collect the egg there was blood on the egg and in the nesting box. I went to try find Jack Hen... Posts Tagged 'Caleb'

Who would have thought that 3 little yellow bundles of fluff that we acquired in September would be the result of so much learning, heart ache, joy, vets visits but as of yet not one egg.
I have blogged about getting the chickens before. How we got them from day olds and built a coop for them and have been waiting for them to lay some eggs. Well the egg... Green Nail polish
Should boys wear green nail polish?
We were in the shops buying some gifts for the kids cousins. Caleb asked for some green nail polish. He wanted monster nails. Rachel has quite a lot of different colours and I could see that at 4 he was just curios. I had no problem with it and he is now sporting some rather fancy green finger and toenails.
Yme was not... Saying goodbye to Stanley
Stanley was my dog, I got him in 2000 he was 18 months old then, so in dog years he will be 91 in March. He is a Labrador, the kids have loved him and grow up with him, he has always been around and especially for Rachel he has been her first pet. He is so gentle and has always put up with the riding him and playing with him and has never ever in all his... Cherry Picking
We went cherry picking on Sunday. It is the beginning of cherry season but the kids leave to Pretoria on the 8th and we wanted to fit it in before they go. It is quite a long drive and it made me grateful my mom talked me out of driving up to them for Christmas. The colder windy day gave me the perfect excuse to wear my new hat I knitted for myself. I so... We have chickens

She knew that I wanted chickens at some point and so she ordered me some when she pre-ordered for her boys. And so our adventure with chickens began on 2 Septemeber at the Philadelphia Kerk... I saw this Dinosaur tracksuit top on Pinterest, it is so easy. I made one for Caleb’s birthday and it has been a real hit with him and his friends. Here is the link to the blog tutorial with some nice pictures, I have added my instruction below
Here is how to make it:
1: Find a plain tracksuit top with a hood and zip, this was the hardest part as it... Caleb
My middle boy, he was my baby for so long and for me at times it is hard to see him as anything else. I used to call him small fry before Titus was born. Yme and Rachel thought this should change to medium fry but I guess I have to acknowledge how much he has grown up too. I was the middle child so I guess I feel a certain affinity

* so we are pregnant, the decision has all been made and pinkgeek baby is here to stay. I am going to be keeping most of the baby stuff on the Pinky and the Geek blog so pop over there from time to time to see what we are up to as we journey from to having our baby. Hopefully I can get Geek to also blog regularly and it should be cool to see our very...
Pinklets get a place in the cyber world
So I am a blogger and a home schooling mom. I do post stuff about my kids on my blog from time to time, but I thought maybe they needed their own space. The idea actually came when I wanted to print a Platypus project that we had been working on and I was struggling to get the printers working, without having to sell organs to afford the ink. I was...
