I like the idea of doing arts and crafts with my kids, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty of actually doing it this is where I trip up. Either we doing have all the supplies and I don’t want to buy 100 brown bags to use 3 or I don’t want 5 different colour rolls of celephane to cut out a small piece of each. Arts and crafts take effort and planning and I worry about the mess and cleaning up.
If you are like me and think you should do more crafts with your kids but always put it off with a lot of excuses then Surpriso is for you. Well it is for you if you are Super Mom, all organised and don’t mind mess too, it will just make it a little easier. But for moms who are a little frayed around the edges and the house is already a tip and the thought of adding paint and glitter makes you want to cry it is perfect.
What is Surpriso From their website www.surpriso.co.za
Surpriso is a monthly arts and crafts subscription box delivered to your door with all the materials and step by step instructions, for kids to build, make, and develop their confidence.
The crafts are for children aged 5-8 but we guarantee that it will be fun for the whole family to get involved!
What’s in the box?
Do it yourself arts & crafts activities delivered monthly (each month has a new theme)
Each box contains 3-5 age appropriate craft activities
Safe and non-toxic materials
Last Months Box – Under the Sea
Each month is a different theme and all activities are centered around the particular theme.
We got the sea theme box, my kids are 10, 8 and 4 and while it is aimed at the middle one, the older and younger 2 also loved it as you will see from our pictures. The instructions are clear and I love that there was a did you know of sea facts included.
I loved that everything came in the box that we needed for all of the crafts, it was all together in a sturdy shoe box size box. We just kept everything in there as we did the activities over a few weeks (Rachel got tick bite fever in the middle so that slowed us down a bit)
While there was a painting activity it was not too messy and since the stress of finding and collecting all the supplies was done already for me I think I could have even coped with a messier craft too.
Rachel and I did a video review on our weekly podcast from minute 41 if you don’t want to watch a whole knitting podcast!
Here are the pictures of the kids enjoying the activities.
First we made magnetic fishing
Next Rachel and Titus made Paper bag Jellyfish, although Titus said his was an octopus
Caleb made the Sea Turtle Sun Catcher
Rachel and Caleb made the door hangers
All in all we loved this box very much – Thank you so much. I highly recommend it to all families.
