Day 16 → Someone or something you definitely could live without.

I hate housework, I already blogged about not ironing but I hate the rest too. Dishes especially. It actually hurts, being freakishly tall, as Yme calls me, means that basins made for standard height people are actually painful to use when you are tall, so not only does the act of washing the dishes suck you land up with a spasm in your back too.

My mom has a little tile thing on the wall that says “dull women have immaculate homes” well lets just say that I could not be called dull if that was the measure. My business partner and good friend Barbara whom I miss terribly surpised me with a visit on Monday morning. I was in my PJs and the dishes were not done. It was far far from immaculate! But I know she loves me despite my lack of a spotless home. It did however make me wake up at 1:30am this morning to do the dishes. I had fallen asleep early and had not gotten around to doing them before. I hate waking up to dirty dishes it just starts the whole day off badly.

So call me spoilt or lazy or untidy or just too damn busy with a business, home school and other stuff to see housework as anything but a monumental pain in the butt, well the back actually.

I also hate doing housework. Especially dishes. That’s why I have a dishwasher. And someone who comes to do my ironing. Seriously. I just have better things to do.

For as long as I could afford it, I’ve had somebody else hired to do my housework ! I absolutely despise dishes, I hate cleaning… the only “housework” I really enjoy is cooking, and the way I do it, it isn’t work at all :P

I’m not as freakishly tall as you are but I find washing dishes kills my back too. Although, I’ll take washing over drying any day! ;)

  4. Pinkhairgirl says:

I wish I could afford to hire someone but at this point that is just not possible so I do it with much grumbling

  5. Barb says:

lol sorry Sal that our surprise visit haunted your sleep to the point of making you wake up to do dishes.
I hate dishes – I really really really want a dishwasher. I dont do dishes at night, they are always done in the course of the day before the husband returns from work so come surprise me and I promise my dishes will also be unwashed haha
(honestly having to cook the meal is enough for me – spending more of my evening in the kitchen alone while the family are relaxing will lead to bitter fighting and threats of divorce – probably from dh because of my irrational venomous b*tching lol).

LOL, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my dishwasher, especialy when Paul stacks it ;)

Have to agree with Gina… it’s the best thing we bought!

  8. Twistygirl says:

I also hate all forms of housework, but it is especially nasty when it is kitchen related

  9. Angel says:

I loathe housework… but laundry I can live with. Vacuuming, dishes, dusting, I think if I land up in Hell thats what I will be made to do for eternity!
